Aging in Place

Over 15 years of hands-on experience assisting my wife in the care of her parents, we understand that each person and each situation is different requiring specific transitions in order to age gracefully and in a secure atmosphere promoting peace of mind to you and your family.

My wife promised her dad that she would do her best to honor his wish that he and her mom stay together and remain in their home.  My father-in-law was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease and my mother-in-law with Alzheimers.

At the beginning modifications were simple:

Installing grab bars and hand rails  •  Clearing paths inside and outside of home
Improving lighting  •  Re-arranging furniture

As needs changed, more modifications needed to be made (click on images to enlarge):

Enlarged door openings

Installed comfort height toilets

Redesigned vanities for wheelchair access

Redesigned shower

Installed wheelchair ramp

Replaced furniture with lift chairs and motorized bed
